Currently on our Planning Team, Taylor Yen is a Master's student who has been with us for over a year! With an educational background in data science, he's a technophile who seeks out adrenaline-filled activities while traveling (pictured below is his skydiving experience in New Zealand).
Reflecting on his #LifeatKlook experience, he shared, "I'm thankful that my supervisors gave me ample room to apply my data science knowledge to my work. This role allows me to marry data science with the business world firsthand."

What do you like or appreciate about Klook's culture?
The seamless collaboration with colleagues, regardless of their seniority or tenure at Klook. I've always found it easy to exchange knowledge with my coworkers.
We even have a dedicated AI group chat where we discuss the latest AI trends and their impact on Klook's business. Aside from continually refining my data science skills, I'm entrusted with the autonomy to execute tasks independently, with my opinions valued and respected by my team.

What's your most memorable project throughout your #LifeatKlook?
Consolidating thousands of customer inquiries, categorizing them, and presenting key insights to relevant stakeholders to support their decision-making. I learned to adapt my communication style to match each team member's level of understanding.
I received guidance about 80% of the time on data report presentations and learned the rest by observing my colleagues' body language. Whenever I noticed confusion on their faces, I'd adjust my phrases for better clarity.

Any nuggets of wisdom you'd like to share with future Klookers?
💡 You're in capable hands with a talented team with diverse expertise. So, don't hesitate to ask questions or engage in discussions. Speak up so that your colleagues know what needs to be addressed. You'll find yourself benefiting from others' perspectives. There's no such thing as a bad suggestion or question. Even with common business terms or acronyms, my colleagues would always be happy to explain them to me.
💡 Share your skills and insights with confidence. This will help build your workplace reputation and you'll be assigned tasks suited to your strengths. Showcasing your strengths—whether hard or soft skills—will make a lasting impression regardless of your manager's expectations.
